Area information :

One of the most attractive and famous place is the Benedictive abbey (0 class monument) in Tyniec. The fortified monastery is rising high upon a precious white rock over the Vistula. It's the oldest, nearly 1000 year old, object of this type in Poland. It was founded in the XIth century by Kazimierz the Restover. The fortres raised on the steep hill secured the acces to Krakow.
