Hotel Angel's Home, is a First Class Boutique Hotel in Istanbul. It has a quiet location in the old city centre - Sultanahmet - where you can find the heart of Istanbul's History - the former Constantinople. When you step out of the hotel you will feel the culture of the Byzantine Empire. The hotel is within walking distance of Byzantine and Ottoman Monuments, such as, St. Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar. All of our rooms are comfortable and spotless and each has been individually decorated with great care and finesse to reflect the refined graces. Each room comes with split air-co, mini bar, TV, translucent curtains (as well as opaque drapes to keep out sunlight when you wish) plus a fully tiled, private bathroom with enclosed shower cabin, hair dryer, WC, and hot and cold water is readily available. Some of our rooms also have balcony. Angel's Home Hotel was built in the beginning of the 20th century by Admiral Tafdil and his wife Melek (Angel), who gave her name to the house. A street nearby the house was also named after the Admiral. Angel's Home opened its doors as a boutique hotel in October 2003 after being restaured to its original state and is run by the Duyar brothers. It covers 28x12 that is 336 columns in total, each of them having a Corinth style capital. Istanbul Archeology Museum Distance: 150 meters The one of the most important archaeologicial museums in the world. Its collections possesses number of unique objects from various past civilisations. There are 50.000 similar items in the collection of the museum. There are twenty large halls on the groundfloor and 16 on the first floor. The lower galleries display examples of Greek and Byzantine architecture and sculpture. The most famous rooms in the museum are Salon VIII and salon IX. The Obelisks Distance: 100 meters Two Obelisk facing one to another are still to be seen in Sultanahmet square. Hieroglyphics was brought to Istanbul from Egypt by the Emperor Theodosius, and set up its present position in the Hippodrome. It was given the name column of Theodosius, and it is 18.45 m in height, (24.87m. including the base). It is constructed of Syenite prophry , weighing 200 tons,which is supported on a marble polinth, measuring 2.75x2.20m. Covered Bazaar Distance: 1 km This is the largest covered market in Istanbul, In addition to its historical importance, it's a bazaar that will tempt even the nonshoppers with its rich collection of precious handmade carpets, jewellery, leather and souvenirs.
